Willows

What a fun week!

admin on: Willows

Just a quick update from Willows. We have had another hard working week in our class! We have met a new character called Beegu who is a little, sad alien from Space who has crash landed on our planet. We have written a recount of her week as well as a character description using expanded noun phrases in English. In Maths we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes and we have used their properties to describe them. In Science we have enjoyed doing our messy experiment for Science week and we have loved 'catching a rainbow'. What a fun but busy week we have had this week!
Keep checking here to find out what other fun we get up to next week!

In Willows class this week we have been making our own marvellous medicines using a range of disgusting ingredients. From this we have made a poem describing our ingredients using expanded noun phrases. In maths we have been looking at multiplication and made aliens who needed socks to demonstrate repeated addition. Lastly, in D & T we have been making some cup and ball toys just like in the Victorian times. We have had lots of fun playing with these in the classroom. In science we have been learning about the importance of hygiene and how we can keep ourselves clean.

In Willows class this week we have been exploring our old toy museum in the classroom, we have had a look at how different the toys are today compared to Victorian toys. In literacy we have been looking how to write expanded noun phrases and use these to describe the disgusting habits of Twits! In maths we have been looking at number and place value in which we have compared numbers to 100 using words such as greater and less than and even used the symbols: <> to show this. Lastly, we have been sorting and classifying animals and their young in science… we have learnt so many different names of baby animals such as hatchling and fawn.
